Career Overview

David Clarke is a distinguished international blind footballer, celebrated for his remarkable achievements in the sport. Representing both Great Britain and England, he has participated in 8 European Championships, 5 World Championships, and 3 Paralympic Games, including the London 2012 Paralympics. Born with glaucoma, Clarke lost his sight at an early age but defied the odds to become a record-breaking blind footballer. His legacy in the sport was further solidified with his induction into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2013. Beyond football, Clarke served as Chief Operating Officer at the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) before stepping into the role of CEO at Paralympics GB in March 2023.
