Chemmy’s passion for skiing emerged early. At just 11 years old, she won the Etoile D’Or French Village Ski Championship (1993) and joined the British Junior Alpine Team (1994). In 1995, her exceptional talent earned her the Sunday Times Junior Sportswoman of the Year award. Alongside skiing, she was a skilled tennis player, representing Richmond in the London Youth Games.

Her FIS debut came in 1997 at Coronet Peak, New Zealand. That same season, she won silver at the British National Championships in Giant Slalom. By age 19, she was ranked in the Top 10 globally for her age group, marking her rapid rise in the sport.

Olympic Moments and World Cup Success
Chemmy made her Olympic debut at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games, competing in all disciplines with a best finish of 14th in the combined event. At the 2006 Torino Winter Olympics, she placed 11th in the downhill, the best Olympic performance by a British female skier since 1968. She continued to compete at the 2010 Vancouver Games, cementing her status as one of Britain’s finest alpine skiers.
