Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen has been revealed as the face of CHANEL’s new make up line, Les Beiges, rolling out internationally from March 2013. Les Beiges is a collection that represents “natural beauty, simplicity, freedom and a healthy glow.”
Les Beiges is not a colour cosmetics collection—it’s simply a new sheer powder product. But this back-to-the-basics approach is why Gisele was chosen to represent Les Beiges: “Modern, independent and positive, [Gisele] is also a nature lover who has a healthy lifestyle and enjoys the great outdoors,” said the brand via press release.
Bündchen, previously the face of Max Factor, appears in the advertising campaign for the range, shot last spring by Mario Testino.
Famed for her fresh and healthy-looking complexion, it figures that the French fashion house would choose the 32-year-old supermodel to front the campaign for Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powders, a brilliant new line up of skin-perfecting make up.
To beautifully extol the virtues of this skin perfecting powder, Gisele was captured by Mario Testino for the campaign.
Quite simply, we want what she has, so we’ll snapping up some Gisele-glow-giving powder as soon they hit counters in the middle of March.
The minimalist looks at Alexander Wang, Calvin Klein and Balmain—to name just a few—focused on luminous complexions. Serums, primers, moisturizers and foundations all had more face time (literally) on models than colour cosmetics, meaning Chanel’s new collection is sure to be a hit. And it doesn’t hurt that Gisele Bündchen totally sells it in the Les Beiges ad campaign.
Gisele is not the only new face picked up by Chanel…They also snagged Brad Pitt and Keira Knightley. Brad Pitt caused quite a bit of controversy for his ads, but Gisele will for surely do the opposite. She was recently spotted in Hawaii sporting a bikini and chiseled abs only 2 months after birthing Tom Brady’s babygirl, Vivian Lake.
