Kim Cattrall is a British and Canadian actress celebrated for her work across television, film and theatre. Born on 21 August 1956 in Liverpool, England, she emigrated to Canada as a child before beginning an acting career that would span more than five decades.

Cattrall appeared in numerous films during the 1980s, including Police Academy, Big Trouble in Little China and Mannequin. However, her most famous role came as Samantha Jones in the acclaimed television series Sex and the City.

Her portrayal of the confident, witty and independent Samantha earned widespread praise and a Golden Globe Award. The role made Cattrall an international star and remains one of television’s most iconic female characters.

Alongside acting, she has performed extensively in theatre and written books exploring relationships and personal wellbeing.
