Sophie Ellis-Bextor announced as Ambassador for Nioxin

Sophie Ellis-Bextor has been announced as the new UK and Ireland ambassador for Nioxin, the salon brand which specialises in giving users thicker and fuller hair.

Nioxin’s products and treatments focus on giving users thicker and fuller looking hair and consist of systems that are tailored to specific hair types, with six three-part systems to choose from comprising a shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment. The shampoo removes sebum and residues from the scalp, while the conditioner moistures, balances and re-hydrates the hair. The scalp treatment, containing anti-oxidants and botanicals helps thicken each hair strand and treat the scalp.

Despite looking fabulous at all opportunities, Sophie said that she has a very pared back approach when it comes to her beauty regime. She said, ‘I keep it really quick and I think I was like that even before I had kids’. It’s hard to believe that someone who always looks so preened in the public eye has such a low-maintenance approach to beauty

The platinum selling singer, who uses the products herself, commented: “I am so happy to be Nioxin’s UK and Ireland Ambassador! I’ve been using Nioxin for a while now and have really felt the difference in my hair. It feels stronger and thicker and have noticed how shiny it has become. I also feel really connected to the brand as it was developed by a mother who was going through hair thinning due to pregnancy – as a mother myself I can relate to the stresses of being a full-time mum and working at the same time and can’t imagine having had to cope with hair loss during pregnancy as well.”

Sophie’s collaboration with French DJ Mathieu Bouthier, “Beautiful”, was released on 16 July 2012 in France through iTunes and she is working with British singer and producer Ed Harcourt on an Indie-oriented record. She also confirmed the album might have 8 tracks, and will be released in 2013. On November 23 2012, she performed at a charity gala in London a new song, titled “Young Blood”.
